Roof height of industrial buildings. Roof fencing: structures for operated and non-operated roofs, materials for production

It is very important to observe all safety measures when erecting fences on the roof of buildings. To do this, there are certain rules and standards that must be followed.

However, the construction of protective structures in accordance with GOST and SNiPam is a rarity, since many builders do not even have the slightest idea about the standards.

Separation of roofs into types

Looking at the roof of various buildings, you can notice one feature - it often differs from each other.

That is why there is a clear division into two groups, which are also divided into subgroups.

  • The first group includes a flat roof. This type of roof should not cause any difficulties in the construction of fences.
  • But the second group - the pitched roof, can cause more difficulties than it seems. In this case, the norms of roof fencing should be applied to several subgroups separately.
      The first subgroup is enclosures on one or two-pitched (four-pitched) roofs, the second - mansard, where the angle of the roof is quite high. The third subgroup includes a multi-gable roof, where the installation of fences requires individual calculations.

All roofs should also be divided into exploited and non-exploitable. This factor also affects the installation of fences.

Operated roof

Let's talk about the features of roofs that are constantly used by people for any purpose: installation of equipment, repair work, snow removal and much more.

Turning to SNiP 21 01 97, it is worth noting that the roof fence should be installed on any building whose height is more than 10 meters. It is also said that the angle of the roof, in this case, no more than 12%.

Note!
  For buildings with 12% or more, a separate rule is provided - their height is taken into account from 7 meters.

It is also worth noting that roof fences are installed in accordance with GOST 25772-83 “Steel staircases, balconies and roof fences”.

Features of the interpretation of these standards:

  • The height of the fence on the roof according to SNiP depends on the total height of the building. On objects with a total height of up to 30 meters, it is permissible to install a fence with dimensions of 1100 mm or more. On objects of 30 meters or more, structures must be at least 1200 mm.
  • If the fence is already installed on the existing parapet, then the dimensions of the parapet should be subtracted from the overall dimensions.
  • The subtleties of GOST also apply to the manufacturing process of the frame. So the distance between the horizontal posts should be no more than 300 mm. For vertical elements, the rule is even tougher - no more than 100 mm.

Note!
  A roof guard is also provided - GOST 25772 83, using a special heavy-duty glass, which is installed as a curtain screen.

Unexploited roof

The main feature of this section is the absence of strict requirements, because people are not provided with access to the roof. But do not forget about emergency situationswhen the use of the roof is simply necessary, this is connected not only with the performance of the equipment, but also with human lives.

Therefore, on unexploited roofs, special bridges and ladders are installed to prevent a person from falling. They are made taking into account the correct distribution of the entire body mass on the surface of the flooring.

In this case, all the requirements of SNiP 21 01 97 remain the same, but for the installation of the roof fence GOST 25772 83 makes some changes:

  • The minimum height of the fence for any type of building and regardless of the number of storeys should be at least 600 mm.
  • The distance between vertical and horizontal structural elements cannot be made more than 300 mm.

Important!
  It should be remembered that violation of GOSTs can lead to adverse consequences, where a monetary fine is not the worst thing that can happen.

Once you have read the above information, you can proceed to the next section, which describes all the options.

Materials for the roof

  • The cheapest and most affordable option are products made of ordinary metal. They are covered with special means to increase the protection of the material from negative atmospheric influences. For this, the method of powder spraying is used, which gives increased fixation to the surface layer.
  • But if the price in this matter is not the most important criterion, then stainless steel should be preferred. The material does not require any additional processing, its structure is resistant to all negative influences.
      A stainless steel is a guarantee of durability and reliability. In addition, it can be used for re-installation
  • For roof fencing, various glass products are also used, which make it possible to give the building the most attractive appearance.
    Unfortunately, it’s unlikely that it will be possible to install such designs with your own hands, this requires a special tool. This factor increases the cost of barriers several times.

Note!
  Also, plastic nets for fencing sports grounds can be used to protect the roof.
  High-quality material easily tolerates severe frosts, is resistant to moisture and is not afraid of ultraviolet rays.
  At the same time, it significantly increases safety on operating roofs.
  Such nets are suitable for both temporary use and for everyday use.

Whichever option you choose, you should remember that the basis of everything is reliability and durability.

Technical requirements

To erect a roofing fence in accordance with GOST, it is necessary, following the rules, to perform the following actions:

  • Roof fences should not be distinguished from the whole building. They should advise standard colors, harmonize in design and not attract too much attention.

Important!
  It is forbidden to fasten and install any products of any nature on the roof railings.

  • The design must be made of high quality materials. Moreover, you should check the documentary component of the organization that provides the fence.
      For this, there is a special GOST - 23118, there is also SNiP III-18, which provides for the rules for the manufacture of welded structures.
  • It is equally important that all installation work is carried out by specialized companies that are licensed and authorized. It will also be useful to have a professional tool to speed up the installation process.
  • Roof fencing GOST 25772 83 for child care facilities should not have any inclined intermediate elements.
  • It is important to consider all the dimensions of the barriers that are installed on the roofs, in accordance with the above rules. Please note that the size of the fence depends on the number of storeys of the building.

Note!
  As for added security, it is necessary to install walkways and gentle stairs on pitched roofs.
  This allows employees of specialized organizations to spend less effort on the implementation of work, installation of equipment and snow cleaning.

Checking the quality and integrity of fences

In order to comply with all GOSTs and SNiPs, it is important not only the installation and operation process itself, but the mandatory verification process (see the article on the details). It is necessary to identify flaws, inconsistencies and defects.

The following is a test verification instruction:

  • First of all - visual inspection of fences. This process must be carried out once or twice a year, as well as after stormy winds and heavy snowfalls.
      It allows you to make sure that the design is not damaged. Pay attention to: fasteners and welded elements.
  • After which, you should begin to check the load. It is very important to understand that this process should be trusted only to specialized organizations that have permission and permission to carry out work.
      In any case, do not forget to enclose the object of inspection with warning signs.

Note!
  For such cases, there is a rental fence for construction sites, cheap fences can save both time and money on the construction. In addition, companies providing these products will help to install them.

  • If all the fencing have been successfully tested, after testing no defects and defects have been identified, you should proceed to fill out the documents.
      This process is also carried out by the inspection company, after which you must sign and agree or disagree with the test report.

Having received the appropriate document in hand, it is necessary to keep it for five years - just then the next check is carried out. It is usually used to verify trials, as well as to identify oversight and violation of the rules. In any case, it is of particular importance to the inspection organization.

Existing types of fences

It should be noted that the fence on the roof according to the standards can be of several types:

  • The easiest and most affordable option is. Such products are usually made of class A1 fittings with a thickness of at least 4 mm.
      A metal corner is also used as the base of the frame and metal strips as connecting elements. Visually, you can see it in the photo below.
  • An expensive option is plexiglass screens, which are fixed in a metal frame. The cost of this type is much higher, but in appearance it wins the rest. Plexiglas can be covered with a protective tinted film, thereby making the fence the most attractive.
  • Reinforced concrete blind parapet - this option is practiced on inverse roofs, while mounted around the perimeter. As we wrote earlier, parapets can be combined with metal fences, taking into account the dimensions, as a whole.

Note!
  Do not forget that the roof is not installed for beauty, but for safety.

What a metal fence consists of

Another useful section in which we will consider all the elements of a roofing fence:

  • The basis are supporting posts, which are made of metal pipes or shaped metal. This element is responsible for the strength of the entire structure, so it must be checked before installation begins.
  • Horizontal crossbars - rods of fittings, suitable diameters (from 4 to 8 mm) are used
  • Fasteners - brackets and metal corners. It is with the help of them that it is possible to mount fences at any angle and on any surface.
  • We must not forget about nuts, bolts, washers and screws. In some cases, anchors are used, as well as welding and gluing.

Output

Now you know how roof fencing is carried out according to GOST and according to SNiP 21 01 97. All the rules and requirements comply with the standards, so after reading this article, you will receive answers to all your questions. The main thing to remember - non-compliance with standards can lead to adverse consequences.

In the video presented in this article, you will find additional information on this topic.

All work on the organization of the roof and the installation of related structural elements, as well as the technology of erecting the roofs of buildings for various purposes, are regulated at the legislative level by the norms of certain SNiPs, GOSTs, Code of Practice and other documents endowed with legal force. Compliance with applicable technical requirements is an indispensable condition for the normal and safe operation of any structure. In particular, the roof fencing is regulated by the Federal Law of December 30, 2009 N 384-FZ, GOST 53254-2009, 23120, 25772, 23118 and 25772-83, SNiPami: SP 54.13330, SP 56.13330 and SP 17.13330.2011.

The roofing can be varied, but two types can be distinguished by type:

Flat roofs are the most common type of roofing structure, which can be found in most standard high-rise buildings. Most often, instead of roofing, traditional solid parapets are made on them.

The flat design is also popular in the construction of buildings of trading houses, entertainment and business centers, high-rise residential complexes of premium class. In these cases, the fencing on the roof performs not only a protective, but also an aesthetic function. They can be made both in the form of parapets, and without them. The standards for the organization of such elements are regulated by GOST 53254 2009.

Pitched roofs are mainly the prerogative of private and elite construction due to the higher cost of not only materials, but also relatively flat works. Although they can also be found on low-rise buildings of old housing stocks. Two, three and many pitched ones are divided, but the requirements for roofing structures depend directly on the degree of inclination, i.e. stingray.

Roofs are also divided into:

  • operated (can be used as additional area for a recreation area or territory for walking and provide free access to the roof: common in residential, public and industrial buildings);
  • unexploited (do not imply open access of people to the roof; the exception is employees of housing and maintenance services who carry out scheduled inspections of the state of the roofing and, if necessary, carry out repair work).

But in either case, the presence of people in this part of the building is not excluded, and therefore, special protective elements must be equipped on the roof. Only the requirements for their organization, depending on the type of roof, have differences.

Normative requirements for the organization of roofing fences

So, the roof is a part of the building that needs systematic implementation of certain measures: repair work, snow removal, installation of additional communications, and so on. Ensuring safety for the people on it is a task of paramount importance.

The organization of fire ladders and roof fencing is regulated by the provisions of GOST 53254 2009, 23118, 23120, 25772, etc. For structures of the attic type and multi-pitch roofs, the installation of protective elements of this type is practically impossible. Their function can be performed by special bridges and ladders. In addition, the device of such a roof should be carried out in such a way that the load from a person can be evenly distributed over the roofing sheet.

Roof Requirements

The requirements for the installation of roof fences on an operated roof are similar to the organization of balcony:

  • if the building is not higher than 30 m, the fence should be at least 1.10 m high, and if it is larger, not less than 1.20 m;
  • since the structure of the fence provides a cross-shaped structure, the distance between the longitudinal elements - up to 10 cm, and between the transverse - up to 30 cm;
  • if there is a parapet on the roof, then the height of the roof fencing is reduced taking into account its height;
  • in conjunction with fences, a screen made of metal or organic glass can be equipped.

Roofs of this type must have a solid base so that people can easily move along its surface. If the design provides for the presence of a parapet on it, then SNiP II-26-76 establishes that its height should not be less than 1.2 m. For commercial and public buildings   Such a level of the enclosing element often spoils the view and hides part of the review, so developers resort to a compromise solution. They build a monolithic border about 0.5 m up and already mount a metal fence on it.

The building code sets the difference between buildings depending on their purpose. So, in apartment buildings, roofing fences, both around the entire perimeter of the roof, and in areas of dangerous elevation changes, should be 1.2 m. Along with this, such structures are provided for solid, i.e. continuous and additional handrails are required that can withstand a load of at least 0.3 kN / m.

In relation to office buildings, this Code sets the height of protective elements from 0.9 m, and for industrial buildings - from 0.6 m, including if they include a parapet.

Fencing of a pitched roof in operation is necessary provided that the building height is more than 10 m and the inclination angle is not more than 12 °. If it is larger, then the enclosing structures should be mounted on buildings with a height of 7 m.

Unexploited Roofing Requirements

Unexploited roofs do not exclude the appearance of people on them, therefore, they also require the installation of protective elements. In this case, the requirements for them are slightly different:

  • the height of the roof fencing from 60 cm, regardless of the height of the building itself;
  • distance between longitudinal and transverse elements up to 30 cm;
  • if the angle of the roof is steep enough, then instead of the usual fencing, special bridges and ladders are made;
  • in order to provide additional safety, snow catchers can be installed on them.

The height of the parapet on a flat roof, provided that the building is above 10 m, according to SNiP II-26-76, can not be less than 45 cm.

Any guards must be made and installed in accordance with the prescribed standards and at the end construction work   to be checked in accordance with the regulated procedure and be accompanied by a protocol. The roof fencing test report is modeled on. To be tested:

  • the size of the fencing and the quality of the materials from which they are made;
  • the integrity of the surface around them and the color of the structure itself, which should also comply with GOST;
  • the load that protective elements can withstand.

Despite the fact that the requirements for non-operating roofs are somewhat simpler, evasion of compliance with them is fraught with a significant fine.

Roof Guard Structures

The standard roof guard provides for the following structural elements:

  • supporting posts (steel pipes with a thickness of at least 1.4 mm and a height corresponding to the height of the building);
  • horizontal crossbars of a certain diameter and thickness depending on the type of construction;
  • brackets through which the supports are mounted in a vertical position at the required angles;
  • fasteners.

Depending on the appearance of the fencing, they are divided into lattice (traditional metal structures of the open type), screen (the most expensive closed type), combined (combine the elements of the two previous ones) and classic reinforced concrete parapets.

The choice of materials for fencing is quite wide. Today they are made of galvanized steel with and without coating, stainless steel and copper. Screen varieties are made of organic glass or high-strength metal.

Installation of roofing fences

The organization of fencing for a flat roof is much simpler than that of pitched roofs. Regardless of the level of inclination of the ramp, they must be installed at an angle of 90 ° relative to the surface of the earth. In order to increase the reliability of the structure, it is advisable to use hinge fasteners. The connection areas of the elements should be treated with a sealed composition.

All welded structures, as well as their coatings, connecting elements and fasteners, must comply with the requirements of current SNiPs and GOSTs and have supporting documentation. Work on the organization of protective elements is carried out by qualified specialists, and commissioning of a building is carried out only after testing and drawing up an act on the technical compliance of the results.

Roof fencing - a mandatory measure in the construction of buildings for any purpose. They provide a safe location on the roof, not only to craftsmen and workers, but also just relaxing people. The safety of work carried out on the roof directly depends on the quality of roofing fencing.

In the countries of the European Union, a technical test of a roof is a mandatory procedure before putting an object into operation. Objects that have not passed this procedure cannot be insured.

Types of roofing fences

Roofs differ in type of construction:

  • Pitched.
  • Flat.

It is most popular. This is due to the fact that it can be used as additional area for various purposes: walking in the fresh air, different kinds   rest (including active), etc. Such a roof can play the role of a balcony, so fencing is important not only for security purposes, but also for aesthetic reasons.

Sloping and flat roofs can be divided into exploitable and non-exploitable.

Operated. They are distinguished by a design that allows people to go out on the roof to carry out various works (equipment installation, snow removal, etc.), for domestic purposes (hanging clothes, etc.) or leisure. For this reason, stringent requirements are imposed on the strength and reliability of fences.

To provide such parameters to the roof, it is equipped with a rigid base on which roofing material is subsequently laid.

Unexploited Roofs   also need a fence, despite the fact that it does not provide for the presence of people. The reason is that it is impossible to exclude unforeseen circumstances that may force to work on the roof - damage or wear of the roof. In addition, the life of the roof is significantly reduced without constant maintenance.

Since non-operating roofs do not provide for a permanent stay of people, there is no need for a rigid base. Therefore, to ensure human safety during or roof maintenance, special fences are installed that evenly distribute the weight load over the entire surface. Thus, the risk of a person falling from the roof is minimized.

Types of roofing fences

Trellised metal fencing   - The cheapest and most affordable option. As a rule, before installation, the structure is coated with special anti-corrosion agents, which are then additionally fixed with a powder spray. The most reliable material for the manufacture of fences is stainless steel due to its resistance to both mechanical and chemical influences. There are also galvanized and copper fencing.

Trellised

Solid plexiglass screens inserted into metal frame. To give a more aesthetic appearance to the fence, a special high-strength glass is used in combination with metal. Such fences look best of all, but their price is appropriate.

Plexiglass Screens

Reinforced concrete parapets are mandatory installed on inverse roofs. They are often used together with metal fences.

Complete set and sizes of protections

Elements and nodes

Roof fences are rectangular lattice structures fixed to the roof surface with metal corners or with special factory-made brackets. The package includes:

  • Racks made of metal pipe or profile.
  • Crossbars. The same as the racks, but with a smaller cross section.
  • Universal brackets.
  • Nuts, bolts and other fixing elements.

Roof railings can be equipped with a hinged screen made of special glass. An exception is fencing with a steel grating frame.

Dimensions of fences are clearly regulated by GOST, as well as building codes and rules.

GOST and SNiP requirements

According to construction standards and GOST, the roof fencing is a mandatory measure when the height of the object exceeds 10 meters and the roof slope does not exceed 12 degrees. Also, the roof should be fenced at a height of more than 7 meters and a slope of more than 12 degrees. Moreover, it does not matter whether the roof is operational.

Any flat roofs, loggias and balconies, outdoor galleries, open staircases and platforms should be fenced.

With a building height of up to 30 m, the height of the fence must be at least 1.1 m. For buildings above 30 m, the height of the fence must be greater than 1.2 m. Mandatory presence of handrails at the fences. The height of the fencing of an unexploited roof does not depend on the height of the building and should be at least 60 cm.

If there is a parapet, its height is added to the height of the fence. The total height must be at least 0.6 m.

There is also a requirement for the distance between horizontal and vertical elements of the fence. Between vertical - no more than 100 cm, between horizontal - no more than 30 cm.

Roof Mounting

The dimensions of the fence are selected in accordance with the height of the building and the purpose of the roof before construction.

They have a relatively simple design. Installation is carried out according to generally accepted standards:

  • Marking of mounting points of supports.
  • Fixing supports on the roof covering. Used bolts, rubber gaskets.
  • Adjustment of angular supports to the necessary position relative to the roof surface.
  • Installing spacers and bolting (not completely).
  • Insert pipes into holes.
  • Fixing pipes with bolts with screws.

Installation and Mounting

The quality of installation has a direct impact on the life of the device. In places where the fence is attached to the roof, metal parts should be treated with a special anti-corrosion sealant. Stubs may serve as additional protection.

The mandatory procedure is to check the fence for stability immediately after installation. All fasteners should be tested at a load of 150 kg.

To strengthen the structure, the supporting elements are in some cases welded to the roof surface.

For the safety of workers, installation is carried out exclusively in calm weather without precipitation.

Repairs

Roof fences have a very simple design and are easy to repair. Most often, the repair consists in disassembling and replacing any faulty component.

They guarantee safety to people on the roof. Such structures must be made of quality materials and installed in accordance with all the requirements of GOST and SNiP.

See the video for details on installation.

At the end of the erection of the roof of any building, you should definitely take care of its subsequent operation. But the roof is an inclined plane from which it is very easy to fall, which can lead to undesirable consequences for the state of health. To avoid this, you need to install the roof guard of the building.

They kind of perform the function of a kind of railing. They can be safely held on and even fastened with special safety elements. This allows you to perform any work at high altitude. high-rise building   not afraid to fall down. Thanks to them, it becomes possible to carry out work at any time of the year.

Whatever you have to do with complex technical calculations, it is worth noting that for quite a long time there are norms developed by the relevant experts.

In order to get all this necessary information, it is necessary to turn to official documents. They spelled out all the necessary conditions and requirements. Indeed, depending on the height of the building and its type of roof, there are certain differences. All of them are obligatory agreed both with specialists of the fire service and with employees in safety and labor protection. In any case, all requirements are based on rigorous mathematical and physical calculations, where even the requirements for rigidity and strength of the materials used are taken into account.

  1. If the roof of a building not exceeding a height of 7 meters is represented by a flat type, then the fence must be at least 90 centimeters in height. But this option is only suitable for the case when the non-operating type of roof. For public buildings, this is becoming the most acceptable option. Since it does not require large financial investments. So in this case it will be possible to save money without sacrificing security.
  2. If the height of the building is the same 7 meters, but the roof is equipped with special exits for people directly to the roofing, then the minimum height of the fence on the roof should be more than 1.1 meters. But then it will be necessary to make sure that the distance between the vertical support columns is not more than 1 meter. This is due to the fact that the entire structure was of appropriate rigidity to ensure safety under the action of the mass of any adult.
  3. When the height of the building is more than 7 meters, then there are already different requirements. Typically, such a structure is a tall apartment building, where there is always a parapet along the entire contour of a flat roof with a height of more than 0.6 meters. Then it is necessary to supplement the height by another 0.6 meters with a special lattice fence. As a result, the total height should be at least 1.2 meters. Only with these parameters it will be possible to feel safe at the height of any high-rise building.
  4. In the case when the exit to the roof of a building with a flat roof is equipped for absolutely everyone. It can be, for example, an office building that has a public exit directly to the roof. Then the height of the fence should be at least 1.2 meters. It is desirable that it be even larger. At the same time, the roofing can still be equipped with additional building elements, including all kinds of transitions and evacuation sites.

In accordance with existing building codes, the builder is allowed to increase the height of the fence. The main thing is to observe the minimum required value.

After all, any roofing fence should be mounted only in the form of the letter "L". The distance between the support posts is not more than 1 meter. And the distance between the horizontal gaps should be a maximum of 0.4 meters. This will prevent a person from crawling between or falling out of any objects through the fence itself. All fencing elements must withstand a minimum impact force of 300 N / m.

Features of the choice of materials for roof fencing

When installing such roofing elements, only high-quality materials must be used. They must be made of materials of a special shape and additional stiffening ribs, so that it can withstand force impact in any situation.

Be sure each element must be treated with anti-corrosion material. Or should be made of stainless steel. In order to subsequently exclude the occurrence of rotting and deterioration of strength indicators, which, undoubtedly, can affect safety. For residential buildings where obligatory roof maintenance is required, this will need to be paid special attention.

Mounting Features

In order to install a roofing fence, in addition to height standards, it is also necessary to observe a number of features for the assembly and installation of all elements.

  1. First of all, fastening of the supporting vertical posts is carried out which in the future will hold all the elements. But at the same time it will be necessary to ensure that the foundation is strengthened. Otherwise, if the supports are poorly supported, failure may occur under force.
  2. Installation of horizontal ties between horizontal supports. As fasteners, special hardware materials are used or welding is carried out. Poor-quality welding without technology is not allowed.
  3. Finally, the fencing is painted with a special painting material with anti-corrosion properties. To exclude the occurrence of ordinary rust.

Total

Summing up, it should be noted that any house must have a fence on the roof. Moreover, the height of the roof fencing is strictly regulated by federal laws.

Due to the fact that there are two types of roofs: serviced and not, the species diversity of its enclosures also changes. There are fences for both the serviced roof and the unattended roof. The term “maintained” in the language of industry standards is also called “operated”. We will talk about metal products, since one of the activities of our company is the production, installation and testing of metal roofing fencing. There is no sense in spreading about maintenance-free roofs - the name implies that we are talking about roofs with a large slope (over 12 percent), these are the so-called "pitched" roofs, or about buildings where people are not supposed to be present.

We are primarily interested in buildings with a height of more than 10 meters with flat roofs (with a roof slope of up to 12%) and roofs that provide for the maintenance and repair of equipment located there (antennas, shafts, split air conditioning systems, anything, including snow removal or facade decoration). Do not forget that a restaurant or a rooftop conservatory site also falls within the definition of an exploited roof.

So, having figured out the terminology for determining the type of roof, let's go directly to the metal: if the building is industrial or administrative with an eternal confusion of responsibility between different departments and a chronic lack of funding, it’s enough to install something miserable and cheap from somehow painted corners. Offers of this kind overflow the Internet. But if you want to make it safe for people to stay on the roof of your house or office, of course, you should pay attention to harmonious in design and optimal in terms of practicality stainless steel fences for the roof in use. Such constructions look beautiful, since mirror-polished steel is attractive even from a great distance, and they are inexpensive due to the ubiquity of stainless steel. But the main thing - stainless steel on the roof does not require constant care! No headaches with repairs, seasonal maintenance and corrosion protection. No worries about the strength of the material - high alloy steel is stronger than analogues of ferrous metal at times. Moreover, there remains the possibility of choosing options for filling sections, although not as limitless as that of traditional stainless steel fences, since the roof has very strict restrictions on technical standards.

First of all, it is GOST 25772-83 among the people, experts in the industry dubbed it steel railings for staircases of balconies and roofs, the main provisions, which are summarized as follows:

  • the height of the roof enclosure should be 1100 mm with a building height below 30 meters and 1200 mm with a building height of more than 30 m;
  • if the roof guard is installed on an existing parapet, then the height of the structure is reduced by the height of the parapet;
  • fencing of the serviced roof is carried out with a distance between racks of not more than 1000 mm, and between horizontal crossbars - not more than 300 mm.

The second important reference also refers to the same regulations. normative document   SNiP 21-01-97 railing of the roof. In buildings with a roof slope of up to 12% inclusive, up to a cornice or top outer wall   (parapet) more than 10 m, as well as in buildings with a roof slope of more than 12% and a cornice height of more than 7 m, roof fencing should be provided in strict accordance with GOST 25772-83.

Well, and, of course, we must not forget about the third set of rules called SNiP 31-01-2003. According to him, the fencing should be continuous, equipped with handrails and designed to absorb horizontal loads of at least 0.3 kN / m (30 kg).

If you already have finished project   or terms of reference, everything is simple - fill out the order form, enclosing the files with the documentation.

If you want to pick up something individual, for yourself personally, call us on the phone in Moscow indicated in the header or basement of the site to contact a personal manager and get a free consultation. We are happy to take all your cares upon ourselves: we will develop for you a design project, detailed documentation and 3D prototypes with an accurate estimate without commissions and surprises.

If you want to independently choose the most suitable option from the typical constructs presented on the website, select the model you like in the fence calculator and place your order. The order basket is arranged in such a way that you can recruit a whole range of works from different sections of the site, managing the set at any time.

Making an independent choice, one should take into account a number of distinctive features of this type of railing - this is the material, design and filling options. The following materials are presented on the site: ferrous metal with a choice of primer-enamel or powder coating, stainless steel and glass. The choice of paint for ferrous metal affects the resistance of the fence to corrosion. Stainless steel for roof railings is either AISI 304 for outdoor use, or AISI 316 if the building is located near open water or a busy freeway.

Traditionally, horizontal tubes parallel to each other with a diameter of 16 mm are used as filling - these are the so-called crossbars. The distance between them should not exceed 300 mm.

If the roof is used as a commercial area for a summer cafe or as a terrace for relaxation, or an observation deck, there is a need for a beautiful and stylish design of such structures.

A bright modern look is given to any building by all-glass fencing for the roof, or fencing with racks made of stainless steel and filling from glass paintings. Glass has a number of undeniable advantages: transparency, moisture resistance, maintainability, exceptional durability and no maintenance costs in combination with a catchy design.

According to the installation methods, the fences are divided into two types - this is on top of the parapet or, if there is none, directly on the roof. But in this case, you need to consider that, despite the economic attractiveness, it is necessary to think through the protection of the roof waterproofing in advance. The second method is a side mount at the end of the parapet. At the same time, the fence is a little more expensive, but you do not need to bother with waterproofing.
